Tame Impala – End of Summer
·

Earlier this month, Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker stoked anticipation by posting a series of studio photos on Instagram with the caption, “Been busy😉.” Fans quickly speculated that new music was on the horizon.
Now, Parker has delivered with “End of Summer,” the first new Tame Impala single in years. The seven-minute track also marks the project’s debut release on Columbia Records. Accompanied by a largely split-screen music video directed by Julian Klincewicz, the song offers a lush, extended return to Parker’s signature sound. Watch the video below.
“End of Summer” is Tame Impala’s first standalone release since 2023’s “Journey to the Real World,” created for the Barbie soundtrack. In recent years, much of Parker’s output has been written for films, including “Wings of Time” from Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, his remix of “Edge of Reality” for Elvis, and “Turn Up the Sunshine,” a collaboration with Diana Ross made for Minions: The Rise of Gru.
Beyond film, Parker has also embarked on numerous musical collaborations since the 2020 album The Slow Rush, including “No More Lies” with Thundercat, “One Night / All Night” and “Neverender” with Justice, “New Gold” with Gorillaz, and “Call My Phone Thinking I’m Doing Nothing Better” with the Streets. He has also delivered official remixes for artists like 070 Shake, Crowded House, and Justice. Most recently, Parker contributed extensively as a producer and songwriter on Dua Lipa’s album Radical Optimism.
At the top of the year, Parker won his first-ever Grammy Award. He and Justice took home Best Dance/Electronic Recording for “Neverender.”
